Canadians planning to purchase ammo in the USA

Just a heads up if  you are a Canadian planning a  trip  to  the US  and also planning  to purchase  some  ammo  while  you are   down  there, because  as we  all know,  you  can get a better  deal  and   bring back up  to  5000  rounds  as long as  you  declare it  and pay  the  duty/taxes at  the border.
Canadian  customs have no problem with  you  bringing it in. The problem  arises if  you are  caught transporting it  while  you are in  the USA. Under  the BAFTE, (Bureau of ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND FIREARMS) you are not  allowed  to  export  ammo  without  a permit and if  you  try  and get  caught on  the US  side  you  could be  subject  to imprisonment up  to  30  days without ...
